On November 30, 2018, the wastewater treatment and zero-discharge equipment provided by Jiangsu Sunpower Technology Co., Ltd for the new polysilicon project of Xinjiang GCL New Energy Materials Technology Co., Ltd. successfully produced solid salt, indicating that the equipment had completed the whole process commissioning and the wastewater treatment and zero discharge equipment started successfully at the first go.

The wastewater treatment and zero discharge equipment includes two parts: a pretreatment unit and an evaporation and crystallization unit. The maximum design capacity of the equipment meets the contract requirements. The equipment mainly pre-treats, evaporates and crystallizes multiple mixed wastewater streams from exhaust gas washing, and the high-quality recycled water is used as the feed of the demineralized water station, and the solid salt produced by the crystallization system is transported out.

With the support and cooperation of the owner, Sunpower project team overcame many difficulties. After nearly one month of on-site startup and commissioning, the pre-treatment unit and the evaporation and crystallization unit were successively commissioned and put into stable operation. The successful commissioning of the environmental protection equipment has provided a strong guarantee for the commercial operation of the Xinjiang GCL polysilicon production base.
